Policies
The current guidelines of the FDP are embedded into the “Karlsruher Freiheitsthesen” , which were resolved on the 22. April 2012 in Karlsruhe.
Before they referred to the “Wiesbadener Grundgesetze” resolved in 1997.
Economic Policy
The main goal is the establishment of more jobs.
The tax-law should be simplified and reduced. Though some tax reduction were suggested, since 2009 none was ever tried to be realized.
Social Policy
Social-aid system (social welfare and security funds) should be summarized into citizens dividend (Model of negative income-tax). Also do they wish to restructure the social insurance system.
FDP has critical attitude against state and conservative and egalitarian policies. The party wants to prevent intervention from state into life of individuals. “As much government as necessary, as little government as possible.”
Family Policy
They also think that the favored treatment of heterosexual couples over others is injust and therefore want uniformity of hetero- and homosexual rights. They also promote the construction of more Kindergartens.
Domestic Policy
FDP is against any kind of violation or restriction of the basic law.
They call for to intensification of the punitive law and recruitment of more police officers and judges. Further they want a better rehabilitation system of young delinquents.
Educative Policy
Preschool support of the youth, like language test to detect and support migrated children, is one of FDP ideas. They are against “Gesamtschule” and call for more performance orientated schooling systems.
European Policy
FDP names its self “the European party” and calls for even more connected international and security policies. Their wish is it to have a politically capable of acting Union
Energy Policy
They promote a policy with a mix of energy sources like coal, oil, gas, nuclear power and renewable energies. Since Fukushima, most of the party’s members see a high necessity to quit nuclear power.
